If books are removed from your library, don’t worry. There are libraries online that will give you access to their books. Some require cards, some don’t.
But just because you can still get a banned book on your phone or tablet doesn’t mean that book isn’t banned. The point of censorship is to make it harder for you to get the information you want. This is how democracies starve.
These libraries offer library cards to anyone aged 13-26 anywhere in the U.S.. You don’t have to get just one; you can get all of them!
You can apply for a library card to access their collection of queer information, resources, and literature.
Once you have your cards, download the app Libby by Overdrive. That is where you’ll access the libraries’ catalogs, check books out, and read them (if you read them on your phone). You can put more than one card on the app.
A collection of books which are out of copyright. No card is required to use it.
A collection of audiobooks that are of copyright and read by volunteers. No card is needed.
